New dynamic and volatile “normal” environment
The local microfinance sector has had its share of economic and financial bruises over the past 2 years primarily under the Covid 19 pandemic, the resultant lockdown measures instituted by governments the world over and the general economic recession that accompanied the trading period. Whilst many MFIs have shown great resilience and tenacity through the strength of their institutional capacity and good corporate governance, ZAMFI keeps a hawk’s eye on operations to do with our portfolios as MFIs. “”If your eggs are in some basket, you watch that basket on a daily basis”
ZAMFI is offering this 2-day intensive, highly interactive course to train and re-skill lending and related Officers on new pragmatic credit risk strategies and controls commensurate with the new dynamic and volatile “normal” environment.
Desired Outcomes:
The target participants should be able to;
- Make sound credit judgement on loan applications after analysing the market, management and financial feasibility of the business proposals before them,
- Develop a quality portfolio that delivers quality earnings at low risk,
- Effectively collect from defaulting clients.
Targeted participants
- Credit/Loan officers
- Branch Managers
- Credit Committee Members

The Zimbabwe Association of Microfinance Institutions (ZAMFI) in association with Zimbabwe Microfinance Fund (ZMF) cordially invites you to the 2022 MFI Winter School
New dynamic and volatile “normal” environment
After two(2) years of interruptions and disruptions by the Covid pandemic in which the ZAMFI Winter School or CEO
school and the Summer school were put in abeyance, the ZAMFI and ZMF boards are happy to announce that last year they made a spirited effort to resuscitate the much anticipated CEO school.
The CEO school itself is a massive meeting point for all stake-holders in the microfinance sector. It is a school for MFIs where they can meet, take stock and restrategise in a serene and conducive environment for that.
This year’s Winter School will be held in July in the resort city of Kariba.
The ZAMFI board is inviting all stakeholders (partners and practitioners) to make a date with us at the winter school in Kariba.
